GarageDex is a free reference site. We do not require accounts and do not ask you for personal information. The only data collected is anonymous usage analytics, described below.
What we collect
We have no logins, forms, carts, or newsletters, so we do not collect names, emails, or payment details. We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate traffic (pages visited, approximate region, device type, referrer). This uses cookies and your IP address, which Google processes on our behalf; we have IP anonymization enabled.
Cookies
Google Analytics sets cookies to measure visits. When you click an affiliate link (for example to Amazon), that retailer may set its own cookie to credit a qualifying purchase to us. You can block or delete cookies in your browser, and you can opt out of Google Analytics with Google's opt-out browser add-on.
Affiliate links & third parties
Some "where to buy" links are affiliate links. If you buy through them we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. The retailer (such as Amazon) handles that purchase and its data under its own privacy policy. We also rely on Google Analytics. We do not sell or share your personal information with anyone.
Your rights (CCPA/CPRA & GDPR)
We do not sell or share personal information as defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act, and we do not build advertising profiles. If you are in California, the EU, or the UK, you have the right to access or delete any data and to opt out. Because we hold only anonymous analytics, there is little tied to you personally, but you may email us to make a request.
Children
GarageDex is a general-audience automotive reference and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
